1. Do ONE load of Laundry every day.
Before making breakfast or getting the kids ready, try doing a quick sweep of clothes in the bedrooms, throw them in a basket and take them down to the laundry immediately! Start the load and then get ready. After breakfast switch the load. Get a few more chores done while it's going and then by the kids afternoon naps, you'll have a nice batch of laundry ready to be folded and put away. The best thing to do is to put the laundry away as you fold it, then you won't have to worry about piles of folded clothes all over the place. (For some reason that was my downfall) Doing this will make it less of a chore, and more of just another thing you do during the day.
2. Avoid the TV or any other distractions that could land you in the couch for hours, or the computer for hours.
Stay Busy. Plan your days so you know that you'll be accomplishing things throughout the day. For example:
-Workout
-Make cookies
-Play outside with the kids (Sunshine is GREAT for the kids)
-Play the Piano (Any instrument)
-Go for a walk with the kids
-Play with the dogs
Your own personal list could get super long with things you can do. Avoiding "Time Killers" is essential! (Sure there are those days that you need a break...TAKE IT! haha)
3. Create an enviornment in which you can feel Happy and Organized.
Personally, I like it when things are all in order, and natural light is pouring through the windows. I don't have much, but I work with what I have. I also love jamming out to my favorite tunes, or listening to my favorite book. Something about Audiobooks make me super productive. So that's my go to. Find what makes you happy, and organized and more willing to become productive.
4. Stop trying to be like someone else, Stop trying to be perfect!!
There is no such thing. Do what works for YOU, not a lady on Youtube, not a lady on Pinterest. What works for YOU? Sure people have grand ideas on the internet, now your job is to tweak them for YOU. Don't be discouraged if something doesn't work, just think of it as another opportunity to change it up and try new things! The perfect routine, or schedule you'll ever find is the one YOU come up with for YOU that works for YOU.
5. Have a "Lazy" Day!
It's very important to know that you'll have a day that just isn't a good day, or stuff happens and you don't want to do a dang thing. GREAT! Take it, relax, enjoy because heaven knows you'll have some catching up to do the next day. The important thing is to let yourself relax, and be lazy. You can't be perfect all the time. Accepting that crucial. Enjoy these days.
I hope this list was helpful to some. I know figuring this out for myself took a long time, and I had to do a lot of tweaking. Now it's your turn!
